August 31, 2009 — Just in time for the theatrical release of “Surrogates” starring Bruce Willis, fans can now read the original graphic novel that inspired the upcoming blockbuster on their iPhone and iPod touch! ”The Surrogates” App for iPhone OS features two full issues of the original comic book mini-series formatted for the iPhone screen for only $0.99. The remaining issues of the series can be downloaded inside the Application as an “In App Purchase” for only
$0.99 per issue. Users who would like to try the series before they buy can download “The Surrogates #1″ for free in the App Store as well.
“Mobile comics is a new and growing sector of the industry,” said Robert Venditti, author of the graphic novels, “and we’re pleased to make our debut with iVerse, a company with a proven track record and a keen eye for adapting comics to mobile platforms.”
“The Surrogates” was originally published in print by Top Shelf Productions and is soon to be seen as a major motion picture on screens all over the world when the film is released on September 25th, 2009. This iPhone adaption marks the first digital release of the series.
“We’re very excited to release “The Surrogates” on iPhone OS.” said iVerse Media CEO Michael Murphey. “The book is just incredible, and we hope we can introduce it to fans who may not have read it before, as well as long-time fans who would just like to see it presented in a new way.”
All five issues of “The Surrogates” are available now. A prequel, “The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone” will be available on iPhone soon – and is available in print right now.
