UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who has expressed interest in working with iVerse! We have a ton of applicants to go through, and are no longer accepting inquires at this time. Again, thanks for your amazing level of interest – we’ll post again when more positions open up.
iVerse Media is looking for a few good freelancers for part-time work adapting traditional print comics to the iVerse format for mobile devices.
Here are a few requirements —
1) A basic understanding of Photoshop (or comparable image editing application) and graphic design layout
2) You must be a U.S. Citizen living in the United States (for now…this may change in the future)
3) You must have a webcam for face-to-face video conferencing
4) You must have a verifiable address
5) Mac users preferred, but not required
iVerse is looking to expand our digital comics offerings, and we are hiring freelancers on a per-book basis. We’re offering competitive pay for the work, and you can work on as little as one book per week.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the positions available, please contact us for more information.
If you sent an email to us in the past 48 hours or so, and had it bounce back, please resend it. Over the weekend I was away from the computer, and someone decided to send almost a GIGABYTE of sample images into our inbox, clogging up the works.
We highly recommend that you don’t send us more than 25 MB of material at one time. Sending insanely large files like that only wreaks havoc on our mailbox – and doesn’t make us happy in the least.
We’re gearing up for a November launch, and we’re going to be announcing the details on the creative deal very soon – so stay tuned.
Welcome to the future home of iVerse Comics on the web.
iVerse is a unique comic book entity because we’re producing a new kind of digital comic. Our titles are designed specifically for viewing on Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch devices. With the release of the iPhone 2.0 software, and the launch of the iTunes App Store, it has become clear that Apple has introduced a new digital marketplace that has some amazing potential.
After experimenting with some traditional comic pages formatted into a “storyboard” style for viewing on the iPhone, it became very clear, very quickly, that the iPhone was the device to take downloadable digital comics to the next level.
We’re still kicking the tires around here, and we’re hard at work on our first titles. Very soon, you’ll find iVerse Comics on an iPhone near you…and we can’t wait to see what you think!
